Sunday we were at Mc Kay , a huge place where you can buy and sell used books, CDs, movies and more. Actually I had a book ( curious) written by Patty Knox I urgently wanted to get rid of. My knitting ladies strongly advised against burning it after I told them that I tried to removed the pen doodle with turpentine. By the way it did not work.
I did not expect to get more than $ 1.50 for this book, so I was very surprisesed that we got $ 5.75 as a yellow trade. We went to the fantasy section and put three Sookie Stackhouse stories (part 2, 3 and 4) written by Charlaine Harris in our shopping basket.
the first part of 'Dead Until Dark' I had bought in July and read through a few teething problems within a few days. My initial problems were that I had read only English books to page 20 and then put aside. This was not the books themselves but to my comfort to read in English, because I wanted to look up any words that I did not know. After 20 pages can be pretty go to the laces.
I bought the first story 'Dead Until Dark' in july last year and after some difficulties I read it within couple days. I like to explain this special kind of difficulties. After reading about 20 pages I've got tired of reading in English and put a book away. This happened not because of the book itself but rather because of my lazyness to read in english. I tended to look up every single word I did not know and this can be pretty annoying after pages 20th
Meanwhile, the node is collapsed, so that I can read English-language Bellestristik relax quite wonderful. I do not see after all the words, but read about it and / or try it out of context to ... . Guess Not necessarily "hints" I correct this : D I learned new stands are particularly striking. In reading single words or phrases remind me of situations and people for whom I had learned them. The 'apron' word (apron), I learned in the Community Kitchen, the rhyme "Liar, liar, pants on fire." (Liar) from our neighbor Jeanette during a jogging tour and the use of 'too' and 'either' (both also) I will, thanks to my English teacher Amy never forget: D
the mean time the penny has dropped and I'm able to relax while reading English fiction. I do not look up every single word I do not know but I skip them and / or try to make a guess out from the context. Guesses can be wrong, I know that:) Words and phrases I learned recently usually catch my eye and I remember the people or situations who / that taught me these words. The word 'apron' for instance I learned at the Community Kitchen, the phrase "liar, liar pants on fire 'while I jogged with my neighbor Jeanettte and thanks to my english teacher Amy I'll never forget how to use' too 'and 'either': D
