Kecleons In Plaitunum What To Do

Acid Jazz Vest - Part 2

Undershirts By Jeanette I'm progressing very well. The decreases and increases for hip shaping I've done well and the part fits like a glove. I was happy to lap hergestrickt front of me until I was close to the armholes and V-neck before the crucial question. Should I knit back and right and left front individually in home and away (annoying) back rounds and at least 100 threads sewing or should I "trust" me just for me and something new (Steeking) try? The whole tank top is knit to the end in further rounds. At the end of the armholes and the neck are cut with scissors. It's pretty scary when you consider that I normally keine Schere in die Nähe meiner gestrickten Sachen lasse.

I made progress with Jeanette's vest. I finished the decreases and increases for the waistshaping and so far the vest fits just perfect. I've been very happy with knitting in rounds but as I reached the point where the arm shaping and the V-neck supposed to be started there came one urgent question up in my mind. To Steek or not to steek. Should I knit the back and both fronts in back and forth rows (annoying) and weave in at least 100 ends OR should I just be brave and try something that's new for me (Steeking)? The entire vest will be knitted in rounds. At the end you use sissors to cut the arm holes and the V-neck. That sounds pretty creepy, doesn't it?

Nun bin I am not so keen to experiment, I would snip after hours of work simply go out, but I am a little informed. First, I had the guidance of Eunny Jang's Deep V Argyle Vest ordered pattern, as I design it for a really great find and Steeking (the crochet method) is well described. Hurt Because double hedging can never have I look at the highly recommended book Stitch'n Bitch Super Star Knitting - Beyond the basics for hand made, as are explained in this even three ways to Steeking with all the advantages and disadvantages very good and funny. I decided against the crochet and the conservative Steeking.

Well, I'm not as experimental that I would just take some sissors and cut happily around. Rather I've been searching for some informations. At first I ordered the Deep V Argyle Vest Pattern designed by Eunny Jang. I really love her design and like to knit it some time for myself. She explained the crochet steek very well. To be completely on the safe side I took a look in the book Stitch'n Bitch Superstar Knitting - Beyond the basics . I really recommend it for knitters who enjoy to learn something new, instead of just following a pattern. Anyway, there are three methods 'How to steek' very well and in a funny way explained. Finaly I decided to do rather the conservative steeking method than the crochet steeking.

Here you can see the result after about 30 hours work:)
